How to crop an image
- Drop one or more images anywhere on the page, paste one with Ctrl+V, or click to choose files. The sample image lets you try it without a file.
- Drag the box over the part you want to keep. Choose a ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9 to lock its shape; Center and Select all put the box in the middle or around the whole image.
- Click Download under the picture to save the crop. With several images, step through them with the arrows under the picture (or pick one in the list) to set each box, then Download all (ZIP) saves them together. Apply, beside Download, puts the cropped picture in the list in place of the image (Undo takes it back), so the next image tool starts from the crop.

Is it private?
Yes. The image is decoded and cropped in your browser with WebAssembly and never uploaded. The cropped file keeps its color profile, so colors don't shift, but not camera details or GPS location.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
Not visibly. PNG, GIF, BMP and lossless WebP are saved without any loss. A JPG has to be compressed again, so it is saved at about the quality it was saved at before (between 50 and 92), which looks the same and keeps the file from growing; lossy WebP is saved at quality 92. Nothing is resized: only the area inside the box is kept (of an animated GIF or WebP, its first frame).
How do I crop to an exact size in pixels?
Type the size into Width and Height, and the position into Left and Top, or drag the box while watching the size under the preview. With a ratio chosen, the other side follows.
Which ratio should I use for Instagram, Stories or YouTube?
1:1 or 4:5 for Instagram feed posts, 9:16 for Stories, Reels, TikTok and Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and video, and 1.91:1 for link previews on Facebook, LinkedIn and X. Original keeps the shape of the photo, and the line under the ratio buttons says what the chosen one is for.
Can I crop several images at once?
Yes. Every image keeps its own box. A ratio you choose also applies to the images you haven't adjusted yet, so choosing 1:1 once squares them all, while Free, Reset and Undo change only the image on screen. Download all (ZIP) then saves every crop.
Do my images stay after I leave?
Yes, in this browser only, until you remove them — nothing is uploaded. The list is the same in every image tool and is still there after a reload, so you can crop here, apply, and go on in Resize or Compress. An image in the list changes only when you click Apply, and its box then starts on the whole cropped picture; × or Remove all deletes images from this browser.
