Privacy Policy

In short

Toolonit is built to know as little about you as possible:

• Your files and text are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
• There are no accounts, no analytics or tracking and no ads, and Toolonit sets no cookies.
• There are no third-party scripts, fonts or requests: everything the site loads comes from Toolonit's own site.
• A few preferences, and the images you add to the image tools, are kept in your own browser and never sent to us.

Your files and text

The tools run inside your browser. The files you drop and the text you type are processed on your device and are not sent to Toolonit or to anyone else. The results are made on your device too. Images you add to the image tools stay in this browser until you remove them (see below); anything else is gone when you close the page, except the files you choose to save.

No accounts, cookies, analytics or ads

There are no accounts or sign-ups, and Toolonit sets no cookies. The site has no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising, and it doesn't load scripts, fonts or anything else from other companies. The only cookie you may see comes from our hosting provider, Cloudflare (see Hosting and server logs below).

What is stored in your browser

Your browser keeps a few things on your device so the site works the way you left it. They stay on your device, are never sent to us, and can be removed at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser's settings:

• Your theme (light or dark) and your language choice, in local storage.
• Some tool settings, such as the last format you picked in the image converter, in local storage.
• The images you add to the image tools, in this browser's local storage (IndexedDB), so they are still there when you move to another image tool or come back later. They are stored only in this browser, never uploaded, and stay until you remove them with Remove or Remove all. Safari may clear a site's storage after 7 days without a visit.
• The text recognition models of the Image to Text tools, in the browser's cache storage, so they aren't downloaded again. The tool's Delete downloaded models button removes them.
• A small value for the animation between pages, in session storage, for as long as the tab is open.

Hosting and server logs

Toolonit's pages are static files delivered by Cloudflare. As with any website, each request carries technical information — such as your IP address, your browser's user agent and the address of the page — which the hosting service processes to deliver the page and may keep in server logs for security and operation. Toolonit doesn't use this information to identify or follow you and doesn't combine it with anything else.

When Cloudflare has to check that a visitor is not an automated attack, it may set a short-lived security cookie of its own, for that purpose only and under its own privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to other websites, such as the EXIF Viewer's Open in OpenStreetMap button, which puts a photo's coordinates in the link. Nothing is sent to those sites unless you click, and then their own privacy policies apply.

Advertising

There are no ads on Toolonit today. The site publishes an ads.txt file because advertising may be added later to keep the tools free. If that happens, this policy will be updated before any ad appears, to say what the advertising provider collects.
